At the start of this trip we are spending ten days holidaying with our children and grand-children. We set off on Saturday afternoon, 8 September, and were met by Michelle, Mike and grand-daughters Ella and Sophie at the airport. We realised early in the trip that there are advantages in travelling with young children! Priority treatment in boarding aircraft is certainly one of them and we enjoyed that at each of our three changes of plane.
We departed Melbourne at 6pm and had breaks at Changi Airport Singapore and at Dubai, arriving in Barcelona at around 4pm on Sunday. The highlight of the trip was a quick visit to the Cactus Garden at Changi Airport.
It took us a couple of hours to navigate the public transport from Barcelona Airport and find the ‘Penthouse Panorama’ apartment in the city centre where we joined Chris, Kristie, Lachie and Ash who had arrived a couple of days before. It’s a gorgeous apartment – very spacious with rooms on multiple levels and two pools on the rooftop. We have amazing views of the city, including a good view of the stunning Sagrada Familia cathedral.
We spent the afternoon in our apartment, enjoying the swimming pools and then a dinner of paella from a local take-away.
