We have made good progress along the Canal du Midi today, arriving at Puicheric around 5pm. Mike has done all the driving and Chris has handled all the numerous locks, with great assistance from Ian, Ella and Lachie.

Unfortunately we suffered two losses today. There was a strong breeze which snatched Michelle's sunhat overboard and one of Mike's T-shirts was caught on an overhanging branch and lost.

Coming through a lock: the team iin action |
Today is Michelle's birthday so we stopped at Marseillette for a celebration lunch at a restaurant she found on the internet. We walked for around twenty minutes, only to find that the restaurant was not open. As we were wondering what to do, a local woman walked past and suggested another café further away. She came back with her car to drive Kristie there while we walked, but they soon returned to say that too was closed! The kind lady then drove Kristie and the children back to our boat!
In the afternoon we cruised on to Puicheric where we moored for the night. We enjoyed dinner outdoors at a lovely restaurant, Chez Peppone, for Michelle's birthday, with Ian and I walking there along a country lane. Unluckily on our return walk I turned my ankle which has been quite tender since then.
